Missions

Chapel by the Sea supports many Missions and Missionaries. We believe strongly in being faithful to the great commission to spread God’s word locally and globally (Matthew 28:16-20). We believe that God has blessed the Chapel fellowship largely because the Chapel has blessed God by supporting missions!

“The mark of a great church is not its seating capacity, but its sending capacity.” — Mike Stachura

Gene and Marilyn Ahrens

Gene and Marilyn Ahrens

Gene and Marilyn serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators. For most of their life Gene and Marilyn have lived overseas in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. They have visited and shared with us what it is like to live in a place where there is a great fear among the people of the “evil spirits” that live in the jungle. This is why the joy of God’s word and freedom from the yoke of the evil one is so desperately needed in these remote areas. For the the last few years, Gene and Marilyn have been serving Wycliffe at the Jungle Aviation and Radio Service (JAARS) headquarters in Waxhaw, NC.

Pete and Charity and their three children serve with New Tribes Mission (NTM) in Mozambique Africa. This family really has a heart for missions and a good time serving the Lord. You can click on the link below to learn more about their wonderful and challenging life in Mozambique.

Jesus said to his disciples, The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” Matthew 9:37-38

We answered the calling to go into the fields in 2004 and have been ministering in Mozambique since 2006. We wear many hats to ensure that Bible translation and teaching in the villages of Mozambique continue.

We are partnered with the local Mozambican Church helping to make sure the next generation of Mozambican believers are discipled to go and reach others with the Gospel from within Mozambique to the ends of the earth.

todd-and-sarahTodd and Sara Gealy

Todd and Sara have three children, Will, Samantha, and Max and they live half way around in the world in Thailand. Todd serves in a teaching missionaries with International Community School (ICS) in Bangkok, Thailand where he teaches US History and AP Psychology to 11th and 12th graders at the school. Sara stays home with the two youngest. Will attends school at ICS. The school exists to offer a top notch education to Thai families who wish to send their children to an international English-speaking school. Since the school is a Christian school, teachers are free to share the gospel and teach from a Christian perspective, and it is our prayer that students and parents will come to Christ through the witness and community at ICS.
